Mental Health Wellbeing

The COVID-19 pandemic led to significant impact on public mental health worldwide. Following the pandemic, Kenya Women Veterinary Association supports the mental wellbeing of its members through provision of a platform (webinar) where mental health experts are invited to speak on mental health and wellbeing topics . Below is a screenshot of one of the webinars conducted in 2022.

A Penny A DAY

“A penny a day” is a women’s financial savings fund launched in 2020, members of the Kenya Women Veterinary Association contribute some money which can be as one Kenya shillings (a penny) each day. Additionally, these savings accrue interests over time and can be withdrawn for a rainy day.

KWVA runs a mentorship program to First year Vet students shortly after their admission. This is to empower them to embrace the course and help them sail through the five year journey successfully.

MENTORSHIP

Guest speakers; Dr. Marilyn Karani, Dr. Mary T. Agutu and members of the executive Committee addressed the female 2nd, 3rd 4th and 5th year students, on various topics to motivate them during their studies.

KWVA History book Launch
 KWVA launched its history book during the 2025 Annual General Meeting. The guest speaker was Dr. Rachael Masake, first female veterinarian in Kenya.
